Rotary Ford Ranger Project

Okay, so my friend and i want to put a Rotary engine in his 88 Ford Ranger RWD. I heard that The transmission in the ranger may be the same as the one in an RX7 FC. That is something i want to get confirmed. If it fits like that, it would be engine mounts and that's about it. Thanks, i really appreciate it.

It is the same basic tranny, but in only some 83-87 Rangers and Bronco II's. The ranger uses a different input shaft, as well as a different style bellhousing. It also uses a bearing plate separate from the bellhousing that allows removal of the bell without opening the tranny. There were also 3 different input shafts used during production as well, but all share the same 1"x23 spline input shaft spline as the T2. I believe some rangers also used an internal slave cylinder as well.

1993 - ? Rangers had an internal slave cylinder. I think pre 1993, they were external.
