rotary engine life?

i was told that rotary engines dont last as long as piston engines. My friend says most last around 100k before it needs to be rebulit. Can anyone back this up or prove it wrong?

I am about to break the 150,000 mile mark with the original engine and a heavy foot bro. If they are stock they usually last longer than piston engines do. I have talked to people with 300k miles on the original engine. Your friends must either be talking about moddified engines, mistreated engines, or don't know ****. The last one is probably it.

My TII has 165,xxx miles and is all original. Has some bad signs (i.e. smoke, and floods) but still runs real strong.

Well don't expect any modified engine to last quite so long, but if taken care of properly they should last 150k+. Problem is, most people don't perform even basic maintence on a regular basis.

Yup maintenance is the key to ling life.

Oil+filter 2000 miles
fuel filter 100k miles
air filter 20k miles
plugs 10k miles
Coolant every year
trans fluid 50k miles

all these are the ones I will go by for my car which is not heavily modded it should be smaller intervals if it is really moded or you drive in harsh conditions.

Even modded engine last a long time. Just gotta change the way you take care of it. Gotta do maintenance more often and also make sure you maybe make some of your mods help keep it running longer. As in if you do a bunch of work for more power, upgrade your oil systems/cooling systems or something as well. That will also help alot.
