You can also get a roll bar from Kirk Racing, I think they're closer, so the not insignificant shipping costs would be lower.

If you're talking about a full cage, then think twice, having a cage on the street is a bad idea.

The Corksport "cages" are a joke, they are absolutely the worst, potentially most dangerous "cages" I've ever seen. It makes me sick to think that people buy them. Seriously.

yeah deff not looking for a full cage. Just a simple roll bar that would go behing the seats,

noo only for the added saftey incase of an rollover but also becase think the look pretty cool, lol and especially since i want to start auto x and learn to drift i feel it's a good investment

Kirk racing do they have a website? i guess ill do a search. thanks

I never knew Corksport sold cages. Got any pics of one? I don't see them listed on their site. What makes them so bad?

The Autopower bars are a tight fit if you have a sunroof, but they are good quality. Also, if you have the passive seat belts, you will need to temporarly remove one of the seat belt motors to work the bar into place. Not a fun thing to do, but doable. Reinstalling the motor cover after the bar is installed is real tricky. I'm about to do that for the second time and I'm not looking forward to it.

Oops, I meant Cusco, as the previous poster had said.

They lack diagonal bracing, lots of clevis type bolt in bars that won't really stiffen or reinforce anything, the front downtubes have S bends in them, to hug the A pilliars and go around the dash meaning that they'll be prone to collapsing in on themselves in a rollover, potentially spearing the driver. Many lack key things like door bars and a dash bar, making it more or less useless head trauma potential. Not good stuff. They're also of unknown tube diameters and thicknesses. There's no way in hell that any sanctionning body would approve of their use where cages are required. They also count their "points" differently than the rest of the world, counting connections between tubes, not connection points to the chassis.

The Autopower bar fits very nicely, but as I said, installation is complicated by the passive seat belt motor bulges. The panel covering the motor must be removed and the motor unbolted and moved out to the way in order to get the bar into position.

Also, with the harness bar, the storage box covers do not fully open. They open about 5"-6" at most. And with the seats all the way back, they do not fully recline. Other than that, the bar does not interfer with anything else.

Here are some pics that will illustrate my previous comments.

^^^ hey man thanks..

The bar looks like a nice tight fit.. and BTW i must say your interior looks pretty mint looks real good.

Thanks for your time and info, I appreciate it.

And autopower supplies all the hardware needed for the install right? I would just have to drill the holes of course

Yeah, the GTU is in excellent shape with only 73K miles on it. I've been using it mainly for HPDE, but I recently picked up a nice TII so the bar is now out of the GTU and waiting to be installed in the TII. The GTU will be up for sale in a couple of weeks.

All parts needed to install the bar are included. BTW, you can get the bar with removable diagonal and harness bars. That's what I got and it makes it much easier to muscle it around when installing.

Yes and no. My autopower bar lets me open the bins, but the harness bar interferes and limits the opening to 6 inches or so.

well I guess you would not have to open the bins during a race so I guess it would be ok. but for evary day driving I dont think it would be to good.

I have the autopower bar and got away with taking both belt motor covers off instead of moving a motor. My passenger side bin has a battery box instead of a bin, but the driver side box isn't screwed down, so when I go to the track I just lift the whole bin out diagonally and back and take it out of the car completely.

At first I had 2 subs in the bins, then a battery and a sub, now just the battery, so I really don't notice it untill I need to do something with the battery, since I'm not used to putting anything in there anyway.

Thanks for the tip! I'm about to install the bar into my "new" TII and will give that a try.

this is the one im thinking about getting. It's made by autopower and it looks like it wont interfear with anything. Meaning seat reclining or storage bins

You will still need to buy a harness bar if you get that one.

Why would i need a harness bar? Im not going to be using a race harnes just factory seat belt.

unless you know something that i dont know.. lol... is a harness required for track use?

That configuration won't interfer with the storage box lids, but I think it may limit the seat reclining. That's the bar I have except that mine has the harness bar and diagonal bar--both of which are removable. If you think you may ever want to do some track driving, I would suggest that you get the bar with the removable components so that you can easily install harnesses later on. In the meantime, you can just leave the optional bars off.
