Which Rims Sizes Looks Better
#26
Wow, talk about bringing a thread back from the dead.
Performance would start to degrade if you put a heavier rim on. If you increased the wheel/tire height, then you will get a larger contact patch, but it will throw off your handling and gearing.
I would personally say to stay at 17" or smaller. I have 17"s on my AE, and they are kinda large, but I can live with them.

That's what you need to find the arc of a circle which is a portion of the perimeter (what part of the tire hits the gound).

Why do you think that 16x8 wouldnt fit exactly??
Im running 17x8s all the way around, 255/40r17 rears and 235/40r17 front. 17x9s or even 9.5s will fit out back no problem with the right offsets.

I've been running 17x8 all around on my car. I'm going to be moving up to a 17x9 all around. I was going to go with a 17x10 in the rear, but I'm not making enough power to justify that wide of a wheel.

I had 18x7.5 KMC suidice rims on my car for awhile (came on it when i bought the car) they looked nice, but were too big, and rubbed alot. I wouldnt really go bigger than 17x7.

I think that the 17x8 and whatever is not the problem, the problem is the offset of the ris, if you catch rims with the right offset I think you can go 17x9 in the back and 17x8 in thee front, check the wheel/tire section for this.
