Which Rims Sizes Looks Better

16x7
17x7
18x7

Depends on the style of the rim. Personally I like the stock 15s on the FCs...I doubt I'd go any bigger than 16s. Remember, unless you buy super lightweight wheels, you're just going to be adding weight to the car.

Weight = enemy of performance. :)

I dont care about size so I didnt answer your poll. Id like deep dish rims. And I guess it depends on how much your willing to spend replacing tires. I think 17 look good and tires arent too outrageous. 16or17.
18s are way to expensive.

I got 18" konig toxxins. They are pretty lightweight for 18's. I believe they are 18.9lbs each. Warning, tires will hurt your pocket. For each tire, you are looking at least $120 plus shipping on each. I currently have some Hankook tires on my TII and they are great. The treadwear could be better. If you drive your car hard, and like spinning tires, keep the stock 16" rims.

18x7.5 here, on 215-40s. No rubbing, car lowered 1".

Oh, adn I weighed one of them with a tire versus a stock 16" turbo rim with tire..it came up 6lb lighter. ALl you 18" weight-haters get up on that shit!

BoostedRotors 07-30-02 03:17 AM

Im gonna go OE 16x8's. Anything larger is just showin off! ;)

I agree. My car came with the stock rims and 17s, but the 17s rub, and there's little performance value to be had by going that big. I'll be buying 16s when I can afford it.

My personal favorites are stock TII rims and Vert rims (that is what I am getting, to give it the Infini look) but 17s also look great. 18s are a bit big and usually look silly on an FC, IMO.

Drakk0r 07-30-02 09:30 AM

16x8 in the front, 16x9 in the rear

gr0undz3r0 07-30-02 09:43 AM

18 baby..... all day everyday like OJ

rico05 07-30-02 09:48 AM

18s just scream ghetto-rice in most cases. There are a few set ups (like Kevin's) that look ok. I just like the light weight and JDM look of BBS meshies on a TII. To Ifini and beyond!!;)

wpgrexx 07-30-02 10:02 AM

i think 17's with fat tires in the back looks the best.no gaps in the fender at all. 17/245/40. i saw a guy with those and his gxl wasn't even lowered, looked awesome even though they were basic polished grey canadian tire 5 stars. i dropped my car aninch and a half, 205/40/60 in the back and there is a gap from the wheel to tire. but i don't think the other guy drives his near as hard in corners as i do, his might rub, they are pretty close. have to decide, performance or styling.

West TX RX-7 07-30-02 10:17 AM

17's, stock are 16's, 17's give a little fatter look at the price of performance though, 18's are just too much, 15's are the best performance wise but a good compromise of performance and looks are 17's.

~2 cents~

The OE size is 16x7 not 16x8

cbrock 07-30-02 11:09 AM

17x8 and 17x9...can fit some mean rubber on those babies. I'm rocking the 215/235 till I get the power up to the point I'll use 225/245 or 55 if they'll fit. The wider the rim the less sidewall flex (to a point) you'll have. Less distortion in the tire also, better contact patch. I'd rather have a wider rim with a smaller tire then a wide tire on a smaller rim. Down-side? Wider wheels are heavier.

Hehe, if you look to the passenger side of my car on some of the pics you will notice RICE. Those two civics belong to my brothers, in a month or so they will have completely turned their car to COMBINATION FRIED RICE!!!

:P

BDoty311 07-31-02 09:15 PM

I like 15s because they weigh the least. All my friends at school ask me when I'm going to put newer/bigger wheels on my car, I say never. I dont want to make my car slower and few wheels weigh less than 13.5 pounds, except for a good set of O-Zs or Enkeis. I was going to get the O-Z supperleggas but they dont fit.

TRURX7 07-31-02 09:36 PM

Mine arent too bad.. they only weigh 18.9lbs for an 18.

Ryde _Or_Die 07-31-02 11:38 PM

Ya I was gunna say...I see some mad rice in the pics. Superstreet decals? Mmmm, please remove those. Almost as bad as the APC stickers I been seeing.

TRURX7 08-01-02 12:47 AM

Hehe, I cant help my brothers descicions to be ricers. Let them put all the stickers in the world if they please. Actually the purple civic you see back there does have a Greddy turbo kit, fast but not as fast as my TII. If he tunes it properly he may give me some good competition.

ManGaZeRo 05-28-04 01:33 AM

Whats the biggest rim and depth you can go on stock fenders without lossing peformance for looks.
