So how about for 17x8 up front I go with a +35 and what should I go in back with a 17x9.5" rim and running a 275/40/17 tire? Thanks.

I still want to know how people fit these sizes..

Like, for example. I have 16x7's on all four corners all with +38mm offset and all with 225/50 tires. I am running eibach pro kit springs (0.8" drop) and KYB struts. When I put my hand in the fender to feel how much space there is I cant even fit my finger in between the tire and perch of the strut. The rear has plenty of space, though. And then, on full turn I get thumping sometimes.

Well your car is lowered and you have quite a bit of rubber on there.

In addition to this question, what about 17x9 with a +29 offset? Would it fit and if so what size rubber could I go with if I used a 40 series tire?

I don't understand it also.
There's a bunch of guys running 8" wide front with a +41 (or similar) offset with a 225 wide tires.  In my book, this is impossible. I think those rims are 7" wide?

This is normal.
This is why I'd rather for with a +35 offset on a 7" wide rim up front.

Not really.
This is a common misconception.
If you look at the relation of the suspension versus the wheel / tire, lowering the car does not change the relation of the tire to the lower front strut perch.  This is where the clearance issues are. if you can knock off the lower perch and run really skinny springs, you gain like almost an inch of clearance!

There is not way to get around this unless you run ridiculously large diameter wheels / tires (20").

The only other easy way to get around this clearance issue is to run front camber plates and knock the struts in.

What?
This one?

It won't fit up front.
We've fit a +12 to +15, 9" wide up front.
You can *maybe* got +20.
I don't think a +29 will fit.

9" wide wheel can easily fit a 255 wide tire.
No way a tire like that would fit under stock fenders up front.

i dont know with normal shocks but with my he's i have about 5mm clearance between the coilover and th e+19's up front.... so +29 would rub the shock/coilover...

Quick question would a 215/50R17 fit on the 17x9 rim and fit under the fenders front and rear?

I got a set of basically brand new(7/32nds tread left) set of 215/50R17 for free sitting here. Also I can get a set of 245/45 R17 Falken Azenis for $90 a piece might go that route.

according to specs on tirerack 215/50's on 9" is beyond the recommended range for the tire. And I'm sure it would look retarded if you somehow did get it to fit on there.

where you gettin the azenis from, used?

Ya, thats it. Well what is recommended for an 8" wheel up front? I thought it was +35 so thats why I figured with a 9" wheel that +29 would work. So I am looking for a smaller offset up front, what do I want it back for a wheel 9"-10"? Thanks alot.

So would these work? 17x9 all around with a +20 up front and +36 in back?
