Cutting out your firewall, welding in the RHD firewall, RHD dash, steering setup, wiring harness, pedals. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. It is by no means a quick or easy job. You will need a whole RHD front clip to make sure that you have every single thing you need to switch over.

I did a RHD conversion on my 240sx. Veedubbed is right. It is not an easy job, but can definatly be done. I did it in my own garage in about a month. You should get a whole clip. Your best bet would be to find some place that does JDM engine swaps and to see if they get whole clips in. Then ask them to sell you the clip since most of the time they dont use them anyways. I lucked out on my clip and got it from a kid that got a it for the engine. Sold me the whole thing for $50!

And when I recycled the metal I didnt use from the clip, they gave me $45 for it!

RHD conversion? What a waste of time and money, it only makes passing someone a PITA.

Not really. Its pretty easy to get used to. If you drive it everyday for like 2 weeks then it really becomes second nature.

BR_eater, I see you live in Quebec. I think Canada gives you more chances to own and drive imported cars, am I right? Do you have a RHD rx7? or some other car? That would be sweet. I miss my RHD 240sx

Save your time and money and just buy a right hand drive RX7 There is so much wiring and stuff back there, it would take ages to figure out what it is all for.

And I did my conversion all for $173.86. (I kept a running log of EVERYTHING I bought.) That price includes purchasing the clip, renting the engine hoist, all the extra wiring and bolts I had to buy, and getting the wheels realigned because of the streering rack switch. SO FAT RASPBERRIES TO ANYONE WHO SAYS THAT ITS TO MUCH MONEY!. Oh and I did the switch in 13 days (and then an additional 14 days till I had rest of the car put together, I worked slower once I had the engine and dash back-in) SO MORE FAT RASPBERRIES TO ANYONE WHO SAYS IT TAKE TO MUCH TIME! lol

I did one on my friends civic EK coupe. it took us 3 weeks of just working in the nights after we got off work. It was a lot of fun, and if i had another FC that wasnt in the best of shape for a project id do it. I think its really cool and fun to drive.

Sorry for hijacking this thread 88rx. I can't help but stick my nose in when the words RHD come up I wish I did know of a place to get some RHD RX-7 parts, I would probably be all over that. Let me know if you do.

So yeah here are some intermittent pictures of the process. You'll notice in the last pic that the CD/Radio bezel looks a little off. Thats because the clip didnt come with one and thats from my old dash. THATS WHY YOU NEED A CLIP. Because even with a clip I didnt get every piece I needed. It was a while before I found a RHD cd bezel too, lol. The mechanical part of this took like 4 days, re-wiring the car took 9 days, but it started right up no problems at all I rewired an entire car wire by wire and somehow Im still having trouble with this RX-7, oy vey!

> So, Temjin, just going off your experience of having done the swap. Am I going to need the steering rack? My clip had to be broken down into 2 pallets and the steering rack and crossmember didn't make it to Cali. I already inquired about it from the Canadian company I got it from and they said I din't need either. I thought Bullshit, better check with people who've done the swap first.
