ReWireing the Headlights

hey guys,
just wondering if i can seperate the 3 wires from the source like the HEAD fuse? and run all new wires so I dont have to rip apart and dig though the whole harness? I am kind in the middle of this now and getting frustrated.. Any help quick would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

Diagrams are simple compared to what's actually on the car.
You just need someone to show you how to read them.

Why rewire? fire? short?

I'd just run a new wire from a circuit breaker off the battery, directly to the headlight relay in front of the radiator.
I believe it's a 30 amp (360 watt) relay.
Maybe put fresh relays in & you're good for another 10 years.

Where'd you get the H4's??

kinda custom made

um where is the headlight relay located? is it one of those 5 things with rubber on them?

and would i need to run 2 wires for low and high or just 1 then it splits from there? thanks!

Those pictures tell the story – awesome.
I'm running 55/65 (6054HO) sealed beams now, but I am looking for where to get a good deal on H4’s.

Your relays are #16-hi/lo #17-on/off

The best way is to add new wires in parallel with the old ones. You must run from the fuse all the way to the bulbs, so you need one wire from the 30A HEAD fuse to the headlight relay, one wire from the headlight relay to the dimmer relay, and four wires (left and right, low and high beam) from the dimmer relay to the bulbs.

It's easy to understand if you look at the FSM wiring diagram.
