rewire harness

i think i got a bad wire for my crank sensor, do you think it would be ok to rewire those wires in the engine harness completely? Or does it have to be shielded of some sort

Pretty rare occurance... what makes you thing that you have a bad wire.

If anything maybe a bad pin in a connector.

Check the FSM and find which pins on the CAS plug side go to which pins on the ecu plug side. With the sensor unplugged and the harness DISCONNECTED from the ecu check for resistance in the corresponding wires using a multimeter. You might need to get some extra wire and alligator clips to extend the leads on the multimeter. If you needed to extend the leads be sure to measure the resistance and factor it in, if any. If there is a lot of resistance inline or no continuity there may be corrosion on one of the inline wire harness connectors or damaged/ ruined wires. Good luck, let us know what you find.
