Revs up and down at idle.

back in the day when my car was running... it use to rev up and down durring idle. I think it varied from like 1K to 1.5K... and there is this long rubber hose in the engine compartment that has a screw in the end of it with a metal clamp around it??????? WTF

yea the tps is one way, I have also heard it could be either your fuel injectors or your idle speed. ummm you might be running to lean or to rich.

also check the BAC, the idle tends to jump when they go bad or get stuck.
