can't you just get under your car and solder it back together? A broken wire has never been any more of a problem to fix than a quick solder in my instances.

reverse lights, get the power from the Meter fuse. It goes from the fusebox to the switch, from the switch to the rear harness to the lights.

and your bump has been deleted. Bumps are forbidden in the 2nd gen tech section, and bumping after less than a 1/2 hour just is plain rude.

My last FC didn't have reverse lights either... but.. It didn't seem like that big of deal to me. I just always looked before I backed up... soon as my car started moving, people realized that I was.... well.. BACKING UP.

I'd say drop your tranny.. its not THAT hard. Go get yourself a new clutch and paper your FC a little.

Reverse lights show intent to other driver's. Just like how you should activate your blinker BEFORE changing lanes, though very few drivers I see do this. It's a good idea to have them in busy parking lots as cars will then slow down when thy see those reverse lights.

Mark's filled you in on the path for the lights, but it sounds like you broke the wire between the switch and the lights. I would get under the car and try to find the remainder of the wires to repair them. Maybe come in from up top by removing the shifter boots so you an see the tranny from above.

If I didn't have my normal work space occupied by the SA I'm working on, I'd get my FC up to check it out.

Maybe you can unscrew the reverse switch, solder it, then screw it back in? Its kind of on top of the tranny, but... it might be accessible with tiny enough hands.

Yeah... you can hook it to a switch.. its just a set of lights.. 12volt wiring.. Apply 12volts and it lights up type thing.

The wire for the reverse light input is 12 volts with the key on... but that is the only 12 volt wire at that switch. The rest are grounds or outputs.

What exactly are you asking? You are not being clear

sounds like you just need to get a new switch if the wire got ripped off at the switch.

The Grn/Red is the reverse lights as I recall, with the black/yellow the power from the meter fuse for the power into the switch for the reverse lights. (double check the wires- I am spouting them off the top of my head).
