Ok, the car is an 86 GX, is the reverse light switch on the driver or passenger side of the trans? Also how many wires does it have comming from it?

I think we have them mixed up and I'm trying to wire the reverse lights in (former automatic car)

thats exaxtly what i'd like to know, I have an '88 13bt, used to be an auto now a manual, but i cant figure out how to wire up the reverse lights? where do the plugs from the switch come from, im sure its hus not pluggd in but im not sure where they'd be or what to plug them into, i have quite a few wires hanging around under my car not doin alot.

the reverse /5th gear switch is on the driverside of the tranny near the rear.

The reverse switch wires are Blk/Yel (+ from fuse) and Red/Grn which is out to the reverse lights. 12 volts on R/G when the key is on and the car is in reverse.

cheers man, thanks. ive seen those coloured wires dangling under my car, although 1's melted to the exhaust, oh well
