reverse grinding

I know my transmission is probably going if it grinds going into reverse, but my clutch is also almost going. Might it just be my clutch is messed up, or do I have to look into a TII tranny. I need a little advice.

all of my other gears work fine too. Fifth and reverse are shaky when its in gear, I can move the shifter left to right. It's noisy too when it is in neutral.

Check your bushings, and make sure you get both if you get new ones...

Shifter bushings, that is. My shifter could pop out of the track when it was in gear... that **** sucked.

um i dont think theres syncros in reverse, so the trans must spin down before going into gear or it will grind. just put the clutch in for like 3 seconds then shift into reverse.

Come to a complete stop when selecting reverse. Reverse does not have sycros.

If you are coming to a complete stop and it still grinds you clutch is not releasing fully. Bleed the clutch or replace the master and slave cyl.

Sounds like all 3 have the same problem

Personally I'd find the problem and fix it. It is likely the clutch and it's only a matter a time until it gives up and leaves you stranded.

I've had the SAME FC for 10 years and it never grinds going into reverse

hold the clutch in a little longer, then try it. Its most likely becaus ethe gear oil is cold when you start the car.

If you try to go into reverse gently and you feel like it's about to grind, go into neutral, and release and repress the clutch. Works for meeeee!
