Talking rev limiter??

Hey for all of the 86-88 or 89-91 N/A guys out there...do you guys shift at 7000 which is the red line for 86-88's or do you guys go until 8000.

I heard the engine can handle it but is it a good thing to do that??

MY redline is 8,000

When I'm racing i shift at ~7500, no HP gains after that, even though it goes to 9.

Except, NAs (besides GTUs) will usually benifit from holding it in 4th 'till redline as 5th is tall. Sometimes even though you've surpassed peak HP it is still better than the HP at the rpms the engine will land at in next gear and it might take a while to get to higher HP rpms...

I usually shift at 7600-7800 on my '88. It got me a 16.15 in my heavy convertible... Whatever you do, you do at your own risk of course.
