Hello.

I am rather new to the RX-7 world. I have a 1986 N/A RX-7.
Here is my stupid question....What exactly does porting an engine do??

Theres been a million posts in the last few weeks about porting, if you do a search for "porting" you will finds tons...but to keep it simple. It's enlarging/and or reshaping the intake and exhaust ports to allow more air/fuel mixture, and to get rid of exhaust quicker.

 

And the only real stupid question is the one you don't ask.
