Return of Node: I got a Turbo II
Well, i posted one thread on the forum and get like 3 or 4 people mentioning about me returning, ok. Time to create some huge *** story thread
I'll try to make this long and boring, har har.
July 01 - Just to complete the timeline, I think I really started to get into rotaries in late 00 or early 01. Not really sure because of the forum hacks and whatnot. The July 01 is just when the RX-7 folder in my "stuff" folder was created, which is about my only way to tell. When was the RX-7 Club hacked the first time? Cause I remember signing up and having to sign up a second time in two weeks, although it got hacked again. Not really sure on that stuff.
June 02 - I originally had a 87 Base Automatic
Bought it for $400, clean body except for dent in fender and shitty paint (faded and flaking clearcoat). Only rust was on the sunroof and a drain hole in the hatch which was amazing for a pittsburgh fc.
But it had that damned automatic, and was a base to boot.

May 03 - Then I moved from Pittsburgh to Scottsdale, Az and ended up selling my base to a friend down the street. I was actually the second owner of that car, now its on the sixth owner.
Nov 03 - I ended up getting a Ferrari Fly Yellow 85 GSL from cymfc3s. Beautiful paint, the interior was dyed to black, grey sheepskin seat covers. Maintained very well. $2500, a little much for a FB, but a very very nice car.
I flew out to cali and drove it back. I eventually rearended someone from lack of driving experience. I panicked and locked up the brakes for a good 60ft. Yes I know, speeding and driving too close are factors, but locking up the brakes is the main contribution. Sucks *** no matter what. It was a very nice car, and ran great.
Bone stock.

In the meanwhile, I've been enjoying AZ and its large amounts of rotaries, and as far as modded rotaries go, the FCs are by far the winner. Between several 400rwhp+ FCs and an attempted supercharged GXL, there are plenty of cool FCs to admire.
Dreaming of a Turbo II for the past however long, then I start reading up about the RTek and some other things like the cheap e-bay turbo back, and whatever else. So I've been wanting a S4 Turbo II. Prices are affordable for me, and the RTek is s4 only. A very capable option for stock ecu.
Then j9fd3s showed me pics of his ex-20b Turbo II which had me yurning for a white s4 t2. In my opinion, the only color that can really pull off the series 4 trim (front bumper and black rub strips).
Dec 04 - So I was browsing the e-bay RX-7s, and came up on a very clean looking white s4 t2 w/ 122k miles on it. Well, I won the auction. $2700 and she is mine!!!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT
The car is located in Washingtion.
Now I'm just pricing out car shippers as the car is 2hrs from the airport, and there is a snowy mountain pass in the way, and I don't want to take any chances.
Bone Stock, Original Engine
has one tiny tear in the seam of the seat.
Had a dent in the fender, which in turn had the fender replaced. Fender is off in color a tiny bit but not bad.
Starts and runs perfect. Only one problem, the previous owner had a bad turbo mani>turbo gasket, and ran it like this for 30k miles. Which in turn has probably cracked the turbo on the turbine side. Maybe, Maybe not. I'll have to see.
Awesome car to start out with, and I'm going to keep it pretty mild so that I can keep the engine around for a while.
And I won the auction at 8pm on Friday, Dec 24th. So this was my huge christmas present, which was made possible by quite a few christmas gifts of cold hard cash and my own money.
Now to fix the turbo gasket, see if the turbo is badly cracked, do the usual new car maintenance things. And then mod her
I'm trying to not get any more tickets since the FB got me a couple. So I'm going to do a couple engine mods and focus on suspension after that.
RTek 1.7, some greddy 720ccs, K&N and a nice 3" TID and a cold air divider. Then a downpipe, not sure if I really want to do anymore exhaust mods.
I definately need to get a Koyo before it starts to get into the triple digits out here.
I've been thinking of doing some water injection to help out the pathetically located stock mount ic, or do a IC sprayer. Although I've been looking at E-Bay, and there are some pretty cheap intercoolers w/ endtanks on there. Just have to make up the piping and have it welded up. I'm sure a cheap e-bay fmic won't matter compared to the stockmount.
Then maybe a fuel pump, and a hybrid along with more exhaust.
But for now I just want to get my Turbo II and fix that exhaust leak.
There you have it, the Rotary life of Node....

yeah, i got it around here somewhere. you want me to dig it and the seizatar up?
Everytime I show someone a picture of me, they ask what happened to the mohawk. I only had the mohawk for about a month and a half on two seperate ocassions. I would let it grow out until the sides were too long and then i would shave it all off and regrow to a normal haircut.

Haha, welcome back. Did you happen to sell that red SE to a kid in pitts. whos AOL name is gamblo R03, or his brother rather? If so, I purchased it off of him in March of 04 for $500. I had a photo copy of the title laying around here somewhere, I still have pictures of it. Anywho, I sold it to 2ndgenv8rx-7 on here for $1300. It has 78,627 miles on it when I got it, it was a great little car, just slow as *****. I used it to purchase my TII.
Well, welcome back once again, and good luck with your current project. The rx-7 community is a small world after all.

Yea, Node FINALLY got another FC
My tidbit of advice to you now that you have finally thave the TII you were fated to buy; set very firm modification goals, otherwise they have a funny way of getting away from you w/ these turbos. The gains just ALWAYS feel worth the money.
Have fun and get your *** to Auto-X. That will help w/ the driving experience and perhaps limit your mods. I will try to follow my own advice someday, lol.
