Retractable Antenna Problem
Thge only thing that does not work on my 91 RX is the antenna. I know I shouldn't complain if that is all thats wrong but, I would like to fix it. Any info on repalcement antennas and how hard they are to install would be appreciated.

does the motor run but the mast does not move? is the antenna wired into the radio correctly? check these things before you buy a new motor... may not be necessary AND may not be the fix.

I have the same issue, but I know that my motor runs. I've taken apart the entire unit and it's the cable from the mast that has broken. Is it actually possible to get a new mast without paying some insane price for it?

If you are sure that it is only the plastic belt that is broken it can be replaced without getting either a new mast or whole antena unit. Mazda does have the cable and the FSM has instructions how to replace.
Thats the cheapest way to go.

Just replace the whole mast. They typically are only around $20.
