RETed .....

Hey I had a thread a couple day ago about using an N326 ECU (86-87 NA) on an 88 GTU which uses the N327, for about a week.

You said there were swapable, but you also mentioned injector recistance.

I jsut stumbled accros this post
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=72980
where it talks about what eyars had which injectors and such.

What exactly is the diff between thsoe injector (Referign to the 2 2nd gen N/As.

Also would it still be ok to use the N326 ECU on my car??

Thx for any input.

Im not reted, but...

The injector resistance thing was due to teh wiring harness adn injectors only...the ecu's saw the same thing, regardless of which setup the injection ran.

In short, you can run any 86-88 ecu in any other 86-8 car(na's). I have done it before many times with no ill effects. BTW I have plenty of spare ecu's if you need one, $40 each.

Yep, fuel injectors changed impedence in the middle of 1987.&nbsp The "problem" is that the engine wiring harness ALSO changed at the same time.&nbsp The ECU has no clue what it's firing, but it wants to see a 12-14&#937 impedence on all four fuel injector channels.&nbsp The earlier pre '87.5 engine harness has a plug-in "fuel injector resistor block" that up's the fuel injector impedence so the ECU is happy.&nbsp On later models, this resistance block is deleted, and Mazda went with high-impedence fuel injectors to compensate.

About 10&#937

Yes, it's not a problem - the ECU doesn't know what kinda of fuel injectors you're using due to the presence (or absence) of the resistance block.
