well, FIRST, remove the door pins.
then isolate them from the body and see if the door light still stay on.

Did this start AFTER you resolderd?

If so, you have a solder bridge somewhere.

recheck your work, you slopped solder somewhere it shouldnt be.

Let Me know

Then follow the other idea.

The problem is clearly that the wire has shrted to the body at the door pin switch.

One philips head screwdriver, 5 minutes, and you can tell me if im right

Why cant you try it?!!!!!

There is ONE wire attached to the door pin switch.

This wire, when grounded, turns an the room circuit.

If its loose/ broken /stuck then it is going to ground itself eventually.

Leaveing the room circuit on all the time.

Why cant you try it?

Im "PherensicOgaloid" on AOL IM. (now)

First of all, the CPU has NOTHING to do with the door switches/dome light/console lights.&nbsp The CPU does control the horn/turn signals/hazards.

It sounds like electrical wiring is screwed.&nbsp Does the car have some kinda alarm or car stereo system installed?&nbsp I bet someone screwed with the wiring.&nbsp Electrical troubleshooting is very hard and time-consuming.&nbsp Don't expect us to type out a 2 minute reply and expect that to fix your problem.&nbsp It requires a FSM and lots of time (I'd say almost the whole day) to track down all the circuits just to find the culprit.&nbsp Then you still gotta fixc the problem!&nbsp If you're lucky, it's just a shorted wire; if you're unlucky, you're looking at a several hundred dollar replacement of a Mazda OEM part that the Mazda dealers only sell.

Stop being demanding - this is easily a couple hundred dollar repair job from a competent shop.

Yeah, why don't you go **** yourself at the same time.
This board is a voluntary one.&nbsp We're under no obligation to answer your questions, nor do we have to listen to your childish rants.&nbsp You can't go demanding **** cause this place is free - you willing to pay for it?&nbsp Obviously you're not - we're trying to save you some money, and all you can do is bitch...

Swearing and vulgarities have no place in here.&nbsp Need I have to define what those are?&nbsp How old are you?&nbsp Still in high school?

I DID no such thing u ***!
See above - your comprehension sucks.&nbsp Still in grade school?

i was making it crystal clear to u that i was not demanding any answers of u ok and now that u dont see it i can declare u incomptent!
Maybe your memory is going bad too...&nbsp Just for your reference:
CAN SOMEONE else help me i have tried the door pin thing and no luck .... what else could it be???
I think you need to explicitly state you don't want me to say anything.&nbsp I haven't heard any explicit instruction until now.

u say its voluntary to answer my questions well hey simple ......dont answer mine then .... i felt as if i was not demanding as u said i even went back and read my post and no i still feel as if i was asking properly u must have something up ur *** wanting to **** with younger people
Why don't you put in the time to properly put together a coherent sentence and use punctuations.&nbsp What's your excuse?&nbsp Still in kindergarten?&nbsp I'm not "******* with younger people" - I've got a problem when you type you're on drugs.

hey maybe i should type like u ...now can u understand what i'm trying to tell u? maybe ur keyboard is broke ... hey these periods are cool .....does it make more sense now that i type like u?

Or do you need the... ShiFT Mad QuiCk y0?

peace out !
Somehow I doubt that...

Gee, I wonder how long it'll take for this thread to be locked....

And Ted, obviously seventhgear is younger than you and me, and does not have a sound knowledge of electrics/electronics, so cut him some slack....

If this is the case, then the bitch better be taking the car to a shop that can competently fix his problem.&nbsp We're wasting our time trying to explain how everything works, and how to fix this problem.

I find it amazing that RETed is ALWAYS trying to help EVERYONE and he always seems to get the brunt of some newbie's frustration! What is it with you people? Would you talk to a stranger trying to help you in person the same way? BTW, it's not Ted's job to be "understanding," it's the kid's responsibilty to be civil and not get so frustrated when he doesn't understand an explanation!

Thank you Ted for all of your help. It's people like you that make owning/maintaining these cars easier and more pleasurable.

For a person like me, who knows next to nill on a rotary, I find this forum full of good write ups, excellent folks with lots of knowledge and even some good friends.
For anyone to come in here and act up, as I've seen in some of the posts, is just very immature.

If my 20yr old son acted like that in front of others, I have to say he would get his *** thrashed....by me....and yes, I do have a 20yr old son.

Just curious. When you start the car, engine running, what happens to the idiot light cluster on the dash?? Do the lights go out with the engine running. I do understand they all stay lit up with the key out. I'm just talking about the cluster of idiot lights where the clock is. Nothing else. Thank you.

EDIT: What year car do you have??????? Turbo or non turbo?

Sound's like your ignition switch isn't working properly. you could probably take the plastic covering off of it and check the switch with a multimeter, I believe the FSM might have something about this (http://www.fc3s.org under how-to)
