Resistor value?

Hi all,

I do not have the resistor that should be on the right fender close to the pressure sensor. Someone know the value on the resistor? I think its a variable one....

It's in the fsm that is online and free to be downloaded. My variable resistor reads 5.27K ohms. The fsm has you check it from the wiper to either end and its supposed to read 0.5 - 4.5K ohms.

So, I guess you can just buy a 5K pot and make that work. If it's not installed, the ECU defaults to a set value. I read that somewhere and I don't remember where. Maybe the 90fsm.

Yes, the car should idle and run without it. Maybe not quite as good an idle as you might want.

I had one get broke once (over tightened and it snapped off inside) and it wont drive without it. hell it may not even run, mine wouldnt. you should be able to locate another one from someone locally or on the forum for a few dollars if they are parting the car out.

Always keen to accept a challenge, I just went out to one of my 87 that hasn't been started in a couple of days. I pulled the solenoid resistor out and started the car. It's idling in the driveway right now. It's idling at about 650, a bit lower than normal, but idling just fine. That's with a Greedy front mount intercooler and no bac to assist the idle.
