Resetting cpu
I was reading on some website about this mod that nobody has here in the forum, lol..I'll tell you guys about it when I'm done testing it, and it says I'm supposed to disconnect my negative battery terminal for at least 30min to reset the fuel computer or something like that. Now my ? is, do I do this while the motor is running? It also says this is a good idea if you have aftermarket intake, exhaust, new spark plugs etc...anybody heard of this? Whats the deal? Is there a special way to do it w/ the rx7s???

You probably have a piece of metal that is swirl shaped. It is called an air twister or something and is supposed to increase fuel efficiency and horsepower. Am I correct? To "reset" the fuel computer, disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 30 minutes, and then reconnect it. It will drive a little funny at first, but after a couple of trips should be normal again. BTW, I don't think those things actually work if you ask me.

God I hope you didn't waste your money on that thing...oh well. To completely reset everything in the car, just disconnect eh battery and step on the brake pedal to release any left over voltage in the wiring. That should do it.

The way that I understand resetting your ECU is that you need to drive your car hard for 15 min and then take out your ECU FUSE for 30 secs then putting it back in and reving it to redline 3 or 4 times..
Doing this will reset your ecu so you will get better gas millage and more power..

That's sounds like a pretty stange way to reset a computer... Where did you here that??
Does the RX-7 have an adaptive computer or something? Why the reset requirement?

From what I understand ignition boxes are easy to install, go to fc3s.org's site www.fc3s.org and look at the Crane HI-6 writeup.
