Disconnect the battery, and hit the brake pedal for a couple seconds. Reset with no need for a drink, unless it's a beer. You can't work on a RX without a beer...mmmmm. Oh, sorry today is friday, it's on the mind.

I believe it is like a reset switch. In fact I (after doing some rewiring TPS troubleshooting etc.) this week did a cpu reset. Actually you just have to remove neg batt terminal then when I pressed brake pedal I had a beep and system reset...cool...

All hitting the brakes does is drain the system of any power remaining in the capacitors. It just quickens up the process, but that's still no excuse not to grab a beer while doing it

How would hitting the brakes drain the capacitors as there arent any ground connected from the battery?
