replacing trailing ignitor
replacing trailing ignitor
well im gonna have to start with the obvious and work my way from there. im going to be replacing the trailing coil w/ignitor today. the donor will be from my 88 GTU and will be going into my 90 TII.
now before i get started, is there any safety precautions i should take before i handle these components?
yes, disconnecting the battery is always a first. anything else?

everything is going smoothly but right now im at a stop sign.
i have the 3 bolts holding it on taken off, and the small white plug. now i have that big white plug which is a pain to separate. is there any special secrets to take this sucker off?

I don't think there are any special tips for this kind of a job. Pretty much it should have gone like this: unbolt the old one, unplug its wires, bolt on replacement, plug in replacement.

AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
man, okay so i put in the replacement ingnitor, everything is going good but then there's this issue with my car causing it to flicker while in gear so then my tach died again!
there can't be a possibility that i messed up the ignitor is there?
