Replacing Oil Cooler

Ok, so i have a leak in the oil cooler/line area. The car has no power steering pump, lines removed, rack depowerized. My brand new Koyo Radiator has a nice black splotch on the bottom corner above the oil cooler and line area, and my belly pan is always wet, as is the underside of the frame on the drivers side. 700 bucks for a new cooler and 200 bucks for braided lines is a lil ridiculous... So heres my question for someone smarter than I. I know how to fix the cooler, and have a welder who is wonderful at welding multiple metals including aluminum. However, if i decide to replace the oil cooler instead of fix it... what size core would be needed to sustain or improve the oil cooling ability of the stock cooler? I was thinking core about 11 and rows about 14? Can anyone help me out?

Just buy a used oil cooler from the clasified sections. I bought one cheap for like 40 bucks.; people are always selling them. There is no need for an upgrade. These oil coolers are more than sufficient, even for people running on the race tracks.

Odds are the lines are what is leaking anyway. Have you verified it is indeed the oil cooler that is leaking and that it needs replacing and not just the lines?

no i havent torn into it yet, i was just pricing for what i would have to replace. I think it very well may be just the lines, but the location could be the inlet for the hose? i may have to hunt a used one, for some reason i didnt think about that as an option?
