replacing main bearings

From looking at an engine im taking apart, the stationary gear (the rear mostly) looks to be in need of a new bearing.

i was going to buy this
http://www.pineappleracing.com/bearingpresstoolset.aspx

is there any tricks on doing this?

ive done bearing presses on connecting rods and such, but this would be the first time on a rotor.

Would it be easier to take out if I heated it up while pressing it out?
