Replacing logicon...

What do I have to take apart to find the end of the locicon harness to change my logicon? I mean it is way the hell up in the dash, but there has to be a simpler way to get to it than removing the dash...I just can't find/get to where the harness plugs in.

remove the vent on top of the dash. Carefull cause its probably very brittle from time. Mine is all broke now.

Then you should be able to reach in there and detach the logicon harness. Its plugged in right there.

You need to have flexible wrists to get in there. Its a pain!

Use rope to get the connector back through when you are done.

I have always got to the plug from underneith, reaching up.

Just pull the two lower vents out of the way and there it is.

alternitive methods are always cool. Ya the top vent has a little plate in the middle which needs to be pried out.

Icemark - I always try to do things without going on my back!!!

I used the lower vent method cause I couldn't get the center one out. It gets cramped in there real fast upside down under the steering column.

Pull the steering wheel off. Pull the meter assy out. You can now follow the harness with your hand back to the connector. When disconnecting the plug remember the orientation of the plug and its release mechanism so you will have a reference point when reinstalling the plug.

P.S....... those scratches on your hand will heal by the end of the week. Got a tetanus shot?

The way I've always done it.
