Exclamation Replacing Intake and exhaust manifold gaskets...need help

I am having some difficulty removing my intake and exhaust manifolds, etc. I've searching like mad but can't find a write-up anywhere. What do I have to remove to get this job done. Keep in mind that I am mechanically retarded.

Also, if there is anything else that I should do while all this **** is off the car please let me know.

Thanks,

Greg

EDIT: I have an '88TII bone stock if that helps.

wow dude to ask a question like that and be mechanically retarded i would let someone else do it no offense man if its the LIM gasket it does require some work same thing for the exhaust header gasket requires some stuff you need to be mechanically inclined and a good memory to remember where all your **** goes....

if any of the nuts/bolts are stuck use PB blaster..

i did it with my turbo pull and worked wonders with rusted nuts.. with getting them loose.
you can remove the exhaust manifold with out removing the uim or lim

how about instead of putting up pointless posts and saying "use pb blaster" or "take it to someone else" you guys should be saying "you need to remove these bolts and these components". I think he wants to know exactly how to remove the intake and ehaust manifolds and not what he should do with his car. Btw I'm helping him in this project and we're using PB Blaster and it's a little late to take it to someone else since the car's engine has half apart. Everytime we try to remove something, there's always 1-2 bolts we can't get to and we have to take another component off to get to it. Basiclly this is what we have removed, intercooler, alternator intake and TID. How do we remove the turbo or the heat sheilds? how do we remove the throttle body, the intercooler bracket is in the way and there's an inpossable bolt to get to under the throttle body. So basiclly what we need is a write up or a more detailed explanation other than "remove throttle body" like the Haynes and Factory Manual's say. Remove throttle body......... ok how? remove heatsheild......... ok how? remove turbo........ how?! These are the questions we have. Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

Use the books, man...

Haynes or the FSM...

If you don't think you can do it after reading through the steps before actually grabbing a wrench, then have someone else do it...

Simple as that...
