Replacing front cover gasket, few ??'s

Essentially, I've got an oil leak, a puddling oil leak. It *LOOKS* like it's coming from the top of the front cover, runs down the front cover onto the oil pan and so forth. I'd like to replace the gasket for the front cover and oil pan. Could someone give me a brief rundown on what needs to be removed and any tips on removing the main pully and pan with the engine in the car? I've done pretty much everything there is to be done to an rx7 save for tearing the engine apart, it just hasn't been one of the parts I'm willing to stumble through on my own.

Anyway, in this first pic, the camera is sideways and you are looking right under the water pump, this shiny spot here is oil. The second picture is much more obvious.

Its not a hard job to do but a rather lengthy one for a first timer. I pulled my front cover 5 months ago.

To reply to your posting would take me forever to type. I'm feeling lazy, if you need some help or advice, please email me and I'll give you my phone number so you can call me.

I hope you have some good tools. Here is what I highly recommend that most people might not have

1. Impact Wrench with necessary sizes
2. Torque wrench

No need for oil pan gasket. Permatex right stuff is the best stuff you can buy as an RTV gasket maker.

Please read the Mazdatrix FAQ on front cover removal:

http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/oring.htm
http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/pulley.htm

The factory service and Haynes manuals contain front cover removal and installation instructions. This is not a job for beginners.

Also, I'm fairly sure that the reason most 13B oil pans are leaking is because people DON'T use a gasket. I always use a gasket, covered with silicone on both sides, and have NEVER had one leak.
