Replaced engine, now lil' issuses (idle, clutch)
I put another engine in my project car. It idles like a piece of $hit. It takes a while to start and when it does it gets a to hot. My problem is that the car doesn't idle. I am performing a tune up and there is no change. Anythoughts? Secondly my clutch was weak until I started the car, it works OK but I have a hard time getting into reverse. I really have to manuever it into reverse. Is the slave going? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes
I put coolant in it. My biggest problem is the idle I think. I think that I have to keep reving so it wont die and it gets too hot. This is an FC3S with a pretty stock 13B Turbo.

I fixed the clutch and idle problems but my radiator light comes and it still overheats. When I was driving the turbo seemed to be pulling way too hard and the engine was surging.

1. let the car cool off completely
2. turn the heat on full blast with the car still off
3. open the radiator filler neck and get ready to pour in coolant
4. start the car
5. add coolant until it's about to overflow
6. make sure the coolant stays full after the thermostat opens
7. replace cap before you get coolant everywhere
what kind of exhaust do you have? are you experiencing boost creep? do you have the stock wastegate?

Really the coolant is fine. My problem is the either the thermostat or some vacuum problem? My 02 sensor is broken but that wouldn't cause this problem. Also my problem is not the creep but actual too much turbo usage. I think that the engine is running sooo bad that the turbo is running to compensate. I have a 3" straight to back. No creep I don't have enough speed and rpms to get creep and I do have the stock wastegate.

Well the coolant is still not a problem. I am going to change the timing thingy, I forgot the correct nomenclature. I have since built a trouble shooting light and have started to fix it that way.
