removing oil pressure sender

I am installing a mechanical oil pressure gauge because i believe that my stock electric sender is going bad. I was wondering if there is and easy/easier way of removing the sender. I can't find a good way to get anything on the sender to turn it.

there is a large nut on the motor side of the sender. I think it is a 17mm. You need to get a short wrench a work from underneath it, but from above the car. If you have AC and PS then this can be difficult.
