Alot of work is involve when removing the front cover. First you must drain the oil, remove oil pan bolts, remove oil pan, remove fan shroud, remove fan/clutch, belts, main pulley, front engine bolt (the hardest), remove hub, oil injector lines (just the ones proximal to the OMP), front cover bolts, then the front cover!..

Be very carefull with the needle bearings inside the front cover assembly!...you dont want it to get wedge in the spacer!..check MAZDATRIX's website. They tell you about this problem..

Your local mazda dealer should have the micro fische on file and look up all the parts there. Mine used to leak also. Don't use the Mazda gasket for the oil pan, it sucks, and always leaks on me. Instead there silicone sealant stuff is awesome. The bad side is that it's like $40. My friends Pettit motor has pretty much the whole engine sealed in that stuff. I would even consider using that instead of the gaskets. IF you have Q's try Alamo Rotary and talk to Tito. YES he's a rude ***** but really knows his 2nd Gens.
