Exclamation removing double throttle

i removed the front throttle plates and im getting horrible acceleration, HORRIBLE idle (bounces from 3500 to 4000 rpm) and throttle lag.

Did i do something wrong (i removed the plates without the 3rd one below them.)

Thanks
I need help ASAP
Jeff

I think I'd check and make sure the other two plates behind the ones you removed, were completly closed when at idle. There's no reason for your problem. The ones you removed were spring loaded to the open position so I don't see why you have the proble unless you removed the throttle shaft and left the rod holes open. Or left a air hose off. Did you remove anything other than the two throttle plates??? Maybe the thermowax and water thermo valve????

when i took off the plates, the throttle shaft (im guessing the one which connected to the plates) had a LOT of slack, and could easily of caused a vacuum leak now that i think about it.

Arent you supposed to JBweld that and/or plug it up to stop vacuum leak

I believe they remove the shaft and JBWELD the holes. Sorry about the guessing, I just saw the problem and was guessing what could cause the horrible idle when all you seemed to be doing was removing two butterflys that are usually in the streamlined position on a normal car(after the car warms up).

I removed the front plates, and used exhaust sealant to plug the holes on either side of the TB where the shaft was. Mine idles at 1k now, is smooth as silk, and I get 0 lag, even when I pinch it. You didn't do something correct...

this might be part of my problem as well.... I removed the primary dual throttle plates, the thermowax, the fast idle cam, plugged the holes with JB WELD and rerouted the coolant hose... WTF my surginng is between 1100 and 1500 rpms

Don't fill with JB weld. Do it properly by tapping the hole and using a brass plug or bolt with sealant.
