Removing auxillary port actuating rods...
I just pulled the actuator rods out of my lower intake, and there is a rubber O-ring with metal casing that is still stuck on the port there, should this just slide out, or will It need cut out with a dremmel or something? I already had to cut the heads off of the screws that hold the rods in, damn 15+ year old cars..

Just to experiment pretty much. I know its said that you will lose some low end by having the ports open all the time, but Ive also heard that by removing the actuating rods all together and securing the sleeves into the housings, you will gain significant high-end power because there is less of a resriction in the intake. I dont race below 4krpms anyway, so low end loss doesnt really concern me.

Well I did that and the streetport at the same time, so an impression cant be made on the ports. I removed the sleeves aswell and made my own Pineapple racing style sleeves out of industrial epoxy. This would be impossible i think without having the motor apart. Sorry man I cant remember anything about the rubber ring I did it a couple of months ago.
