you need a new turbo.... or get a used one and rebuild it before you install it, then it will be like new.

check the end play... the turbo will be off blaence...

if the end play is not way off already it will be soon.

sorry buddy... look for a replacement or upgrade.

hmmm there is NO shaft play at all...would i be able to just get a new blade or what?

and i have NO idea what went through it...nothing since i've had the car (month).

that's on the exhaust side if that matters :|

anyways, any ideas as to where to get a new(used) PORTEDwastegate (seeing as how that is the reason it was coming off) s4 turbo? other than forums and such...

o and also, there is a guy selling an s5 turbo(ported wastegate) + mani with a bad compressor side on here, could i use my s4 compressor side and put that w/ the s5 exhaust side?

here's the thread for the turbo:

Good condition Exhaust manifold for sale. $50 + shipping.

S5 turbo for sale. Center section in good condition, no smoke while it was running, minimal shaft play, ported wastegate.

However the compressor wheel is in poor shape, a few blades are bent, a few others have chunks missing. It boosted 15 psi when i pulled it out of the car but it will need to be replaced.

Asking $75 + shipping.

or both for $120 + shipping. I think $30 should cover shipping of both to anywhere in the USA.

Pics are available.


does that sound like a good deal so i can just slap my s4 compressor side onto that s5 exhaust side and call it a nice day? :P

dont bother ... remember you ahve to balence fr something that spins 100,000rpm have it slightly off and it eats itself away...rebuilding turbos is for the pros

right, so should i buy that s5 tha'ts already ported and get the "pros" to place my s4 compressor side w/ the good exhaust side of the s5 and get it balanced?

you won't need to balance it, the cast iron turbo housing unbolts and is swappable, if done delicately it will not affect anything.
