removed cold start assist

I just removed my cold start assist tank.. (behind charcol canister) Is there anything else i need to do besides cap the line that runs to the engine?

I also removed my charcol canister, any thing else i need to do besides run the original lines under the car?

I will eventually get a catch can for the oil... but how long before it makes a complete mess of my car? lol

that's pretty funny that yours is empty. When I removed mine it was still totally full. So lets see here...it used zero fluid in 43,000 miles and 15 years. Make sure to use a little RTV on that plate.

It's a silicone sealant used to seal gaskets or act as a gasket.

I removed the entire setup last summer too. Where the Valve mounts on the Intake, I removed the studs and sealed of the 2 little holes where the coolant would go Into. I used JB Weld to pack the holes In, and wiped flush with the Intake, prior to drying, for a neat appearance.

what exactly does the cold start assist do?

I mean, i'm in florida.. do i really need to worry about having that system hooked up or even in the car? I removed it and threw it away, i dont want to have to buy one again when winter comes

It Injects coolant In the Intake to defrost the Internals, should you be In weather below subzero, hence It's name.

In fact, their was a recall Mazda Issued on eliminating that all together b'c, quite simply, It was/Is deemed useless.

If you do elect to keep It, the ratio, when filled, should be 90% coolant to 10% distilled water.

You live In Florida. Remove It and feel better you did. Even If It was relevant to begin with, the Subzero Start System Is useless to you.
