Here is the answer, go with half of what you have, and try to keep it as light as possible!

2960!! with 1/4 tank of fuel Cool!!

I stripped the car down before getting the install done so 800lbs is still feasable. No A/C took out all the carpet, bins ect in the back, Single exhaust now. Fluidyne Rad ect. So I could have easily been 2200 lbs whle it was stripped down and before any stereo was installed. Makes me want to take it out just thinking about 2200 lbs.

Then again I also think I could live with 2960lbs.

I may keep it in and get it retuned for 110MO instead of the 117 of C-16 and see what happens. I'm just as happy as I could be with the performance at this point.

I'm about 1 step from removing the stereo in my car and using the blank space left over for two egt gauges and an oil temp gauge.

I don't have that much stuff, but i keep thinking... i never have the stereo on in my car anymore... i'm to busy listening to the car to bother with it, and, i only drive it to beat it... so what's the point... (i'm under the PA 5K emissions exemption... so i'm limited as to how much i can drive the car anyway)

Are you sure about the 2200lbs figure?

I thought an ITS Rx7 (NA) race car weights around 2450 lbs

I'll trade ya for your stockers +$500 with the speakers. They cost me $800 with the speakers.

I'd sell the entire setup which cost me 10k for 4k if anyone is interested.

I'm just guessing at the 2200lb figure.

Sounds more like about 400 lbs. of stereo equipment. Take another trip to the track and see how well you can do with a good clutch, first.

I think I will do that snub. I'd first like to either get some C-16 and see how it runs with that since it was tuned on it or just retune it for 110. 2X the price for C-16 over the 110. Guess I could get it tuned for pump gas also and just run the C-16 at the track but it's a pain to drain the tank and stuff. That may be the most cost effective way though. Guess I'll break down and try 5 gallons of C-16 first and see how it does. Even with 2960lbs making 410whp with the C-16 I should run a low 12.

I doubt your car weighs 2200 lbs without the stereo, that's a pretty big drop.

N/A guys are said to have done a pretty good weight reduction job when they make it to 2400 lbs and it's rare to find anyone under that unless completely race prepped. Add to that you have a TII with more stuff, I'd guess your car without stereo weighs 2500 to 2600 lbs at best.

And for reference, your car stock weighed ~2845 lb

Or two rear stock speakers, no front speakers, and an mp3 deck

That's how I roll.

Dude, you paid 10K for an RF/Infinity system? WTF? I sure as hell hope you are including the fab work and installation and misc **** cause there is no way you spent 10K on equipment alone, not with those brands anyway, and if you did.. damn.. Darwin got a pin for you to rock.

10k was including the fab. About 7k in parts. Head unit alone was 1.5k off the internet, the shop's price was 2.5k, retail. I've had this done for close to 3 years. The stuff was all the best of Clarion, Infinity and Fosgate at the time. DVD was 600.00 wholesale, DSP was 400.00 wholesale, Speakers including the subs were over 1300 wholesale, Amps were over 1500, part were bought wholesale online part retail at the shop. Caps were 75 each, Wiring and fuse blocks ect, was around 250, Audio battery was 100 wholesale. 3k in fab work. I would include the door panels, rear panel, rear side panels, ect in the sale for 4k.

Looks good man. Just leave it in there. As it has been said, there is NO WAY your car weighs 2200 lbs. Removing the stereo would be a lot of hassle and wouldn't save you all that much weight. Get a better clutch and go back to the track.

i'd be proud of that stereo too if i spent 10 thousand dollars on it. also, that stereo **** does not weigh 1000lbs. i say it weighs 350 lbs at MOST.

fwiw me and my buddies weighed our cars at a truck stop with a certified scale that is guaranteed within 1 lb and my car (89 TII) weighed 2920 with a 1/4 tank of gas with everything; a/c, ps, spare, jack, tools, 1 gallon of windshield wiper fluid, 1 gallon of motor oil, and some random tools.

your car did not weigh less than 2400 lbs "gutted"

so if your car weighs 2960 lbs and you ran trapped 110 mph after dynoing at a supposed 400whp, there was something very very wrong with your car at the track. i was trapping 110mph on my stock turbo.

edit. i just watched the video. i have the same steering wheel. and whats up with the music? dude?

You need to have two cars. One for go & one for cruising.

What you have is like the Army trying to build a racing tank.

I had a bad clutch then and was running 105 MO in it and it was tuned on C-16. Clutch was smoking off the line, 2nd gear was spinning enough to slide the car over on the track (crappy track that night) and the big end pull was detonating cause the fuel was 12 points octane lower than the tune.

I have a 4 puck in now and will run some C-16 the end of this month when the track opens and I'll try again.
