Removal of Power Steering

Removal of Power Steering
When I purchased this s4, the power steering was already removed. The steering is hard, but I cant tell if that is how it suppose to feel. It's quite tight. I mean I can man handle it, but I want to make sure it is suppose to feel this way.
So after doing a search, many suggest a Manual Steering Rack. Does that make the steering easier? Also, how can I check if its already installed or not? Where is it located. Sorry for the newb question. Also, what is the ratios mean? 20, or 17, or 15.

A manual steering rack will have NO Rubber or Hi pressure lines running to the rack.It has no Lines Period...IF you see any "looped lines'.,then it is a Depowered Rack(was power steering at one point in time).
Manual steering is Not Really Hard to steer. It is great once the car is moving. But If you like Parallel parking with a Coffee, you need a Cup holder!.It however is real Nice for above average speed driving(Track)..
someone else can explain ratios.
