I don't think it will affect passing an emmission test, but I haven't removed them so I wouldn't know. It is pointless to wire open or remove the six ports, in my opinion. It would be just as easy to fix inoperative sixth ports than to remove them, and the car would be more drivable under 4000 rpm, and just might even get better gas mileage . . like 18-22ish . . wouldn't that be sweet?
