Remanufactured engines website
Found this site while browsing the i-net. Seems like it might be an option for some folks. Also you can get upgrades to the engine such a porting.

damn that is a horrible picture of engine even for just display purposes, they even painted the studs, lol.
and $2800 for a ported 13BT is not a good deal unless they happen to give you new rotor housings which were not mentioned. those prices are about $500 over average for a 3mm seal engine.
i also do not like their idea of forcing people to go 3mm, they are ruining the supply of good rotors.

hey karack what did you mean by not liking the idea of forcing people to go 3mm? how does that ruin the supply of good rotors? are the oem seals way better than the 3mm?

. The 3mm wore down the housings more. They can take more abuse if your going to be tuning your car and dont really know what your doing. But a nicely tuned car with 2mm is just as good as one with 3mm. Only your not putting that extra wear on your housings.

yes, milling the rotors for 3mm seals causes more wear to the rotor and the rotor housings. it is only necessary where the rotor is already worn beyond servicable limits. this is just another way they can charge more for the rebuilds and call them a performance oriented engine using the 3mm seal point as a crutch where anyone that knows anything about the 13B in turbo applications knows it is a marginal safety buffer and for non turbo applications it is TOTALLY unwarranted and has absolutely no benefits.
Look around for a blown engine and get it rebuilt the right way, the options are limitless to what you can do if you have the money.
If I was you after what I know, if you have an s4 car I would get a blown s4 engine , upgrade to s5 rotors ( higher compression) then get your engine streetported and built by Kahren on here if you want maximum power. (his stage1 streetport made 195whp w/s5 rotors)
The blown motor and rebuild should cost you around the same price as if you were going to get a remanufactured engine, the only difference is the remanufactured engine may or may not come with new housings but usually they come stockport and cost alot more to get ported/built for power than if u have a blown engine youre getting rebuilt.
Now if you are just looking to keep your car pretty much stock and dont care about power potential and care more about engine longevity then you can go for the Reman.
Price for Reman should be around $2000 , but remember most reman sites expect a core engine in return, so youll be paying more if you dont have a core.
Price for a rebuilt engine can cost anywhere from $1000 base price to $2000 with porting and mods from a builder on here.
Some of the more expensive places like pineapple racing and atkins.com build good stuff but I dont know much about them , but the prices will be higher than going through Kahren on here or Kevin Landers www.rotaryresurrection.com . Im sure there are lots of other people who build good engines on here for a decent price.
