reman motor

i think i have a reman motor in my vert.
well had because i took it apart. today i was cleaning the housings and noticed that they had numbers stamped on them.

the numbers are

rear housing EA1786.
i forgot to take a pic of the front housing but my question is how can i find out who built this motor.

(mods if you feel that this thread hould be joined with my frankenmotor thread then merge them i felt this was a different topic)

nope the owner of the car was some cat that i did a engine swap for when he blew a coolant seal.
me and my homie went and got the motor out of another rx7 never really paid it no mind since i didnt kno anything about these cars then.
one day the owner is like oH .. you wanna buy it i bout and a year later took the motor out and disassembled it and the housings look REALLY nice on one and EH ok on the other.

You and your homie? Ah...

Reman motors, or atleast mine, have some sort of stamped numbers between the front iron and the water pump housing IIRC.

Are the red F and R markings something stamped on the housing or are they hand written? Hand written would mean that the motor has been apart before, showing it was rebuilt before.

I just haven't heard homie in a long, long time

here in PA people are sensitive about that ****.. i cant wait till i move back to nyc.

anyway the legs had red marker f and r painted on them.. or red paint.. sorta looks like a brush stroke. and the one housing is in superb shape i dont kno why i listened to rotards telling me my engine sounded weak.

oh well i have to same up for some als seals find some t2 rotors since the s5 i got from a jdm motor (that i bought and was trashed on the inside) have pits and **** in the,... thats no good right?

mazda remans have numbers stamped on the housings like that, those are reused housings. new housings in a reman have no number stamps.
