Reliable JDM engine sources

Ok, I asked this in a different thread, but to avoid thread hi-jacking, here's a new one. The question on the table is: JDM engines, and where to get one that has a pretty good chance of working. The general consensus on here seems to be that they are only good for low-milage rebuild components... do we have anything to back that up?

From the other thread:

www.OsakaJDM.com - RRTEC claims that "They are the worst, two out of three bad motors..." GGBG thread OsakaJDM

shane of rotaryworks - GAMBEAN says "I bought a jdm motor with a stuck side seal. I had to rebuild it..."

And for a couple pulled up from the Good Guy Bad Guy subforum:

www.japan2LA.com - I really have no idea what happened here after reading the 1st 4 pgs and last two, how did this end up?GGBG thread japan2LA -watch out, its a long one

www.jspecautosports.com - seemed to try to rip off someone of $300 GGBG thread jspecautosports

Now for a quick Google search, please post up any experiences you have had with these importers (im pulling prices for an S4 turbo engine with tranny, cause thats the bit im interested in buying):

www.jdmenginescorp.com - 14 day warranty on turbo/supercharged & vtec engines, S4 13B-T w/ 5 spd and intercooler, $1145

www.tigerjapanese.com - 30 day on turbo engines, ~$1100 estimated for S4 w/tranny

Ok, any more I should add, or that people have had experiences with?

he can get you what you need cheap, and will compression test it before its sold.

he is located in Long Island if i rember correctly, so you can go down and visualy inspect the engine before you buy it too

I bought my Cosmo RE from him 2 years ago, still runs great w/o a rebuild

Awesome, I saw a thread about him selling motors on nopistons, and last i looked, he had a bunch of S5 T2s... i could prob get one of those to work if nothing else. However, I still think that this thread could be very beneficial to other people on the forum as well as me
