release bearing

i was wondering... is there any difference between the oem release bearing and aftermarket ones (the ones that comes with ACT clutch kits or any other brands)... are they all the same that comes from the factory, or the aftermarket ones more stronger or made by someone NOT the mazda?

Your best bet is to get the OEM MAZDA TurboII throwout bearing. Order it from MAZDAFORMANCE. (A forum sponser)

Part # SE03-16-510A, Page 1-F11 of the 86-88 parts cd
Part # N309-16-510, PAge 1-E9 of the 89-91 parts cd

Fom Pineapple Racing:

For all 79-92 (1st and 2nd generation RX-7) applications, we recommend upgrading to the Turbo version of the throwout bearing. Mazda part number F853-16-510.

Wish mazda wouldn't keep f$%@ with the parts numbers!!!

the reason i asked... i ordered this ACT clutch kit and the bearing is the wrong one (110% positive), and time is against me, so i was wondering if i get an OEM release bearing, would that still work? or if i should get the one that suppose to come with ACT clutch kit

is it ok to use the factory release bearing with aftermarket pressure plate and clutch? (mine is ACT Heavy Duty PP)... i cant afford to wait any longer for the shipping of the right bearing and i have a couple mazda parts dealers around that i can get the factory bearing from (dealers... *goosebumps*)... anyone input appreciated!!

I just finished installing an ACT 6 puck disc with an ACT HD Pressure plate.. We used an OEM release bearing and it works without a problem...

on the first order, they sent the clutch kit for the FD, which pulls out, not push in, so it had to be sent back. they sent the clutch kit for the FC, but they sent the exact same release bearing that was sent in the wrong kit.

since it's the FD release bearing, it's not going to fit on the FC transmission and therefore, useless.

thanks to them, this project has been held back for nearly a month and we need to get this car running to take care of paperwork with the dmv....isn't the right, spawn??
