Stupid question but are relays interchangeable ?

89 vert. I wanted to test out a function on my car but I don't hear the relay clicking. Instead of running out and buying a new one I would like to swap one from another system.

Is it ok if it's the same prongs/wire #s ? Example: foglight relay on the fan relay.

And by relays I mean the ones by the rad support.

 

Which relay do you not hear clicking? Usually, if the number of wires to the relay is the same then you can swap them.

 

A/C relay. Trying to figure out why it's not turning on.

is the AC charged? if not the low pressure switch wont let the compressor engage.

u could unplug the relay and manualy run 12V to the coil of the relay to see if it engages, then hook a multimeter up to the output side to check for continuity when u apply voltage(it should make an audiable noise tho)
