Buying my first Rotary Car need advice!

hey guys & girls, I'm just looking for some advice and any information that you enthusiasts may have for a noob like me.

I'm looking into buying my childhood dream car which is a series 8 fd rx7.
Being a young kid at the time I didn't even know what a rotary or wankel engine was but it was the reality I had to accept. Iv worked on Japanese 90's cars before but never have I worked on a rotary or even driven one.

I bet you guys have been asked this question a billion times, but how reliable is a rotary? or 13b for that matter.
What makes a rotary enjoyable to you guys/girls ? what is it that makes you keep on going? and that keeps you intrigued by a rotary?

also how expensive is it to "rebuild" a rotary if the apex seals do break...id rather do it myself but I just wanted an idea.

cheers moites.

Hello kids_yen! Great that your thinking to buying a fd! Well I think rotarys are great and fun cars! I don't think it's too reliable of a daily, because of gas mileage and so fourth. But a lot of people do as long as you take care of it properly. Personally I just like the car. I like it because it's different. I'm in the process of rebuilding mine right now. And I never before. There is a lot of special tools you need. And it is not cheap either. But I hear it is easier to rebuild than a normal piston engine, I'm about to find out.
I know this if for 2nd gen, but I think it has some really good information when you want to buy. http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/buy1.htm
I hope you find the right car for you! And hopefully I helped a little bit!
