relay help

87 N/A automatic

i bought ICEMARKs new logicon put it on and still having the same issue. when you slide the speed adjuster for the fan over nothing happens. you can hear a clicking noice down by the blower motor. i can put my hand on one of the relays and you can fell the clicking nothing on the next one though . i went to the junk yard and got the hole harness of the junkyard car and swithced it with mine. still having the same issue though. you can slide it over from off to on and hear it clicking but the fan dont turn one bit. took the fan out several times to see if it was the fan but no the fan goes . from my knowledge there arent diffrent types of blower motors are ther cause i bouth a new one and it goess hoooking up to battery.

anyone know what step to take next ? this really sucks. checked the big fuse down by drive side and its not popped out.

Your problem lies not wth the motor or the obvious relays hanging on the side of the motor housing. It's that on top and the backside of the motor housing there are parts that are burnt up. Remove the heater housing and you'll see. Junkyard time for you.

sucks to spent all this money and nothing fixed. its weird cause if the relay is clicking then its getting power right? well after the relay the cables go to the blower motor so how is anything above the blower unit gone bad?

how on earth can that happen with the car being off . was on a cold day i started it up and no blower motor working to make the fan spin.

Page 15-97 of the ONLINE, FREE, FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL, shows what I speak of. Most likely the Power Transistor or the Blower resistor. The first is located on the front/top side of the motor housing/ case and the latter on the front middle of the case/housing that holds the blower motor in.

Only four bolts/nuts/studs hold the housiing in the car.

Front being defined as on the bulkhead side of the housing assy.

Page 15-97. That's in section 15.
