Recommendations for Short Shift Kit on 89 GTUs?

Hey guys, just purchased a friend's race winning GTUs with a fresh rebuilt engine and freshened up suspension.

The only work I want to do on the car is take care of the slight slop on the steering at center and possibly a short shift kit.

Looking for recommendations on Short Shift Kits!

Just get the Miata short-shifter on E-bay. It's virtually identical to the FC one's for-sale on Ebay, but about $30-40 cheaper. I think mine was $50-60 shipped?

Feels great.

Do a search for "Miata shifter" or "Miata short-shifter" or something like that. Karack did a write-up on it, and it was quite helpful.

The Mazdatrix one www.mazdatrix.com comes with all the bushings, not just the lever. I have had mine in my car for about a year, and I love it.

the problem with fc short shifters is they're TOO short. the trannies don't shift very well to begin with and a short shifter just makes it worse. if someone would build one and just take 20-25% off the throw, instead of 50-60%, they'd have a winner.
