Recalls

I posted this once already, but it went into limbo, I guess - anyway looking at importing a car from US to Canada and am told I need a letter from Mazda confirming any recalls on the car have been completed.
Anyone have any idea how long it takes to get this letter? Also if recalls have not been covered is there a grace period to get them done or does the work have to be done before the car crosses the border?
Anyone knows please answer asap as there is only an hour left on the auction!

Any mazda dealer can run the vin # for you and check if the recalls have been applied.

Would that suffice?

No, apparently from what I have been able to research the letter has to come from Mazda Corp.
