rebuilt tranny and problems
a mechanic supposibly rebuilt my tranny and i put a 6 puck sprung hub, hd pressure plate, and new clutch slave.
when the car is in neutral i disengage the clutch then engage it i hear a thud every time from the rear could this be from my drive shaft , my motor mounts (cuz i checked my differential mounts and theyre good), or the strength of the pressure plate engageing the the fly wheel and tranny.
another problem i have is i cant just put it into 1st gear i have to put it into sencond then 1st then i have no problem. and every gear is hard to get into gear i have to push hard. he said that i have to wait until the tranny breaks in is this true? and i need a new shifter bushing (so i was going to get a mazdatrix short shifter)
and last but not least when i disengage the clutch my revs go up bout .2 thousands and then i engage the clutch it goes back to 500 rpms is this normal

ok i talked to the mechanic and he said all he has to do is adjust the shift linkage so it can go in 1st gear without any problems
and talked to a friend with a racing clutch and he told me that it was normal for the revs to drop slightly when i engage the clutch in neutral
now all im waiting on is my motor mounts getting competition mounts from mazdamotorsports for like 27.90 a peice, then the shaking should dissapear. if it does not could it be from my drive shaft?

yeah, rpm drop is normal, mine does it with the stock clutch.
the 'thud' you hear is probably your differential. most will say its the front mount but if you crawl under there and with the rear wheels locked, try to spin the driveshaft, you'll probably find that it has a few degrees of free rotation back and forth. mine does pretty bad in it thuds every time i engage/disengage my clutch

FC's don't have any shifter linkage. It is a topload trans, meaning that the shifter sits in the trans. There is no adjustments besides the clutch pedal.
If you hear a loud clunk from the rear every time you shift then it would be the front diff mount which is a very common weak spot.
