Rebuilt engine hot start
I just rebuilt my engine with Rotary Aviation apex seals, but I did use my old housings. So far I have about 450miles on the rebuild. The problem is when its cold it starts up pretty good, but when its warmed up and I try to start it, the car almost starts but doesnt, then I have to flip my kill switch and it starts right up. I do have all my emissions and rats nest removed, so no hot start assistant.
I also think im running rich, because at idle it idles uneven. Almost like those muscle cars with big carbs. The rpms dont jump around but its kinda like a mini bridge port idle. I did port the engine and went pretty big on the primarys.
Basically im just asking if the problems I am having are normal, and in how many miles should I notice big improvements?

Must mean that rear housing is not quite as good as the front. Dont worry about setting idle, TPS, checking compression, or even how much power the engine makes right now. IT is in a state of constant change, so just drive it until it is done developing compression, then worry about the final settings.
ON a new housing rebuild, you usually have very good compression right out of the box, and you can do all those settings the first day or so without much to worry about.
