Rebuilt Engine?

I don't know anything about the history of my car, but the body has 178k on it and the engine still runs strong. Does anyone know what these stamps on the housings mean. in the picture it shows the stamp on the front housing that says RC97. the rear housing is also stamped with what looks like a 6 digit long code, but it's too scratched to tell what the code says. does anyone know if this means it's been rebuilt, and if so, by what builder?

i think these are factory identification marks but don't quote me on it, i have seen numerous other housings with this stamp as well.

on a side note, it appears only turbo rotor housings have these stamps. at least so far that is what i have noticed.

no idea, personally i think RoTa7 is correct and they are stamps from mazda for their rebuilt engines.

i would tend to agree with the rebuilt. Ones I've torn apart, that I know haven't been rebuilt don't have those stamps.
